This Collie Mother and Son
Ready for a New Life Together

Smokey, a tri-color collie, and his mom Misty, a sable, were terribly matted when we got them, so they had to be shaved.  These sweet, gentle dogs are good as gold.

To read more about them and for more photos, go to Available Dogs.

10-year-old Jenna in Grand Junction sent us this drawing of Misty and Smokey in their Forever Home.

Now we just need to make it happen.  These two sweet collies are waiting for a wonderful adopter who will keep them together and give them all the love they deserve.

Diamonds in the Rough:
Six Shelties Just Arrived from Missouri

About a month ago, we got word of several shelties at a Missouri shelter that needed a rescue to help them.  This shelter has a 73 percent kill rate, so we definitely wanted to get these dogs out as soon as possible.  It took some time (it's a long story, trust us), but with the help of fellow rescuers in Kansas and Missouri (thanks, Linda and Glenn) they are now safe in "Doggie Central" with our director Hope.

Here is what we can say so far about these "gems."
-- Mica is a male, sable sheltie of 7-8 years of age.  He is very shy but is sweet.
-- Rock (aka "Rocky Raccoon") is a male, sable sheltie of 3 years of age.  He is silly and has a sense of humor.
-- Pearl is "a pearl of a girl."  She is a 1 1/2 year old, sable sheltie who prefers to be an only dog.  She appears to like children.
-- Opal is a beautiful, female, blue merle sheltie and is 4-5 years old.
-- Diamond  Lil is a tiny, female,  sable sheltie and is 6-7 years old.
-- Ruby is another tiny, female, sable sheltie and is 6-7 years old.

These dogs are in the process of receiving complete vet care -- dentals, bloodwork, surgeries as needed, etc.  Go to the Available Dogs section for more information.

Volunteers Needed in Northern Colorado
We are in need of more volunteers in northern Colorado and the Denver area to help with home visits, fostering and doing transport.  If you have adopted from us, we would particularly like to hear from you.  Even if you have not adopted from PC/SR but would like to help, we would love to talk to you too.  You can email us at info@pueblocolliesheltie.org.

Fosters Needed in Pueblo, Springs, Canon
We need foster homes and volunteers in our area, particularly in Pueblo County but also in Fremont County and El Paso County.  If you can help, go to our Foster Care section to learn more and to contact foster committee members, who can explain more about this rewarding volunteer work.  You can email foster committee volunteer Doris Quinlan at dorisq3@comcast.net or call her at 719-544-8276.  Or you can email Jen at info@pueblocolliesheltie.org.
